A collection of my favourite photos from the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area.I’ve been lucky to grow up and live in the Yorkshire Dales for over 20 years. I’m from a small, historical, market town called Settle- most well know for the Settle to Carlisle railway.
People often ask me what to do while visiting the Dales. We have some of the best hiking of anywhere in England, including the national trail of the Pennine Way. A must do hike is the 26 mile route covering our Three Peaks: Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside. On a typical hike you can expect to see steam trains, farms, rivers, caves, water falls, moorland, dry stone walls & plenty of sheep.
The Dales is also home to the longest cave system in England, with 86.6km of passageways to explore.
If you’d like to know more about the Yorkshire Dales my parents run an online bookstore that sells books about Settle, the Dales and Yorkshire and supports local authors. Visit here: settledownbooks.co.uk.
